WHO ARE WE

It is reported that one in every 41 people (7,428 out of 304,854) are said to be homeless in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets. It has the ninth highest homelessnesses rate in the capital. Over the years this has increased across London with a lot of individuals sleeping rough thought the year.

Dee Dee Street Friends was setup 3 years ago not to solve this but to give hope to those who are looking to end their time on the streets. To let them know that they have not been forgotten. We are made up about 12 volunteers and always looking for more helpers. We arrange events twice a week and a large event bi-monthly called The Big Handouts. At our events we provide food, clothing, sleeping bags and toiletries for all those we are able to identify. Advice where possible to help those find a path that takes them off the streets of the capital.

We are not a large organisation so we focus our efforts in Tower Hamlets and Hackney Boroughs. We are always looking for volunteers and if you are willing to help please contact us via our Facebook account or fill out the "Drop Me A Line" section below. Any and all help is appreciated so please if you have the time your help would be greatly appreciated.
